J.A. Pagán, M.Div., Ph.D. 

Dr. Pagán is the primary instructor and founder of The Institute for Intellectual Formation & Skeptical Inquiry. Prior to his current profession, he served our nation as a member of the U.S. Army Special Operations Forces (1995-2000). Pagán completed his graduate studies at Concordia Theological Seminary (M.Div., 2008; Ph.D., 2011) under the supervision of Adam. S. Francisco. Throughout his doctoral program, he researched problems at the intersection of science and religion at Princeton Theological Seminary (2009-11). In addition to his work at the Institute, he is also an adjunct professor, author, and the Executive Director of Aboite Lutheran Church. He and his wife, Lori, currently reside in Fort Wayne, IN.


What is “intellectual formation”? In Rom. 12:2, the apostle Paul writes, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”
